The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to Queens College, 69-52. Justin Brown scored 23 points, had 4 rebounds and 2 steals for STAC. Irin Stark added 8 points and 7 rebounds while Daniel Skinner dished out 5 assists.
The Spartans got out to an 8-2 start in the opening minutes of action as Justin Brown drained a 3-pointer with 16:42. Kahlil McDonald hit a shot before the buzzer to put the Knights ahead two, 27-25 going into the break.
Jason Halloway hit a 3-pointer with 14:02 remaining in the game to bring STAC within three, 37-34. Brown followed with a jumper to bring STAC within one with 13:23 on the clock. The Knights responded with a 19-3 run to open the game with 8:20 left in the game. Queens maintained a double digit lead down the stretch as McDonald and Terrell Simmons led them with 11 points each.
The Spartans will return to action on Thursday when they host NYIT at 7:30 PM.
