Spartans Play for Wounded Warrior Project

On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Basketball team teamed up with opponent University of Bridgeport in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.  Both teams wore camouflage t-shirts during warm-ups and all proceeds from the day were donated to the WWP.

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP)  serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.  WWP"s mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, by helping injured service members aid and assist each other and by providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
