STAC Men's Basketball Closes Strong, Falls to Daemen, 69-65

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's basketball team came up just short, 69-65 in an East Coast Conference tussle at Daemen College. Marcus Henderson led STAC with 20 points. STAC fell to 7-8 overall and, 3-6 in the ECC, with Daemen improving to 11-6, 8-3.

Omar Kellman added 16 points as the Spartans fought to overcome a 30-16 halftime deficit. St. Thomas Aquinas drew to within two points at 64-62 in the waning minutes before falling short.

The Spartans weekend in northern New York continues tomorrow, Saturday, January 25, when they travel to face Roberts Wesleyan College in a 4:00 pm start. They will then return to Aquinas Hall on Tuesday, January 28 for another ECC showdown, hosting Mercy College in a 7:30 pm tipoff, as the back end of a double-header after the women's teams play.
