The Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association has announced Chaz Watler of the St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Basketball team as the DII Player of the Week. Watler, amassed 40 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in 63 minutes played during a 2-0 week for the Spartans (14-4).

He posted 23 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 35 minutes of play en-route to an 93-85 Spartan home victory over the University of Bridgeport, shooting 7-of-10 (70%) from the field and 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line. Watler then registered 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists over 28 minutes in a 96-80 road victory at Dowling College, canning 6-of-10 (60%) from the field and going 5-of-5 (100%) from the foul line.

The designations, for games played Jan. 18-24, are unique in that they encompass players from 74 Met area schools across Divisions I, II and III.
