Justin Reyes Earns NCAA East Regional Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award

St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team won the NCAA DII East Regional Tournament hosted at LeMoyne College this week.  Junior forward Justin Reyes was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament after posting a double double in all three of the NCAA Regional games.  

Reyes has helped guide the 28-5 Spartans to their first ever Elite 8 appearance.  Reyes is having a stellar season for the Spartans leading them with 20.4 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game. The junior recorded his 1000th career point in early December and is currently among the top scorers and rebounders in the schools history at 1,509 career points and 815 career rebounds to date.   

Reyes has garnered numerous accolades this season including the East Coast Conference Player of the Year for the second year in a row as well as first team all conference.  He was a member of the ECC Championship All Tournament Team.  

Reyes is up for other All Region and All Met awards that have yet to be released, as well as one of 25 players left on a list of 100 players originally for the Bevo Francis Award (Small College Basketball) Watch List.  The winner will be announced on April 3rd.
