Justin Reyes Soars to All-American Accolades

St. Thomas Aquinas College junior Justin Reyes has been named as an All-American in honors released by three different governing bodies this week.

Reyes, who earned the Most Outstanding Player award in last week's NCAA Tournament East Regional, added to his growing list of accolades on Monday by being named a First Team All-American by Basketball Times, and a Second Team All-American by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association.

He added to that ledger on Tuesday with an All-American nod from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and may yet add another when the Division II Bulletin adds it selections next week.

Already among the 25 national finalists for the Bevo Francis award for the best Small College player in the country, Justin was dominant at the regional, averaging 27.3 points per game while grabbing 13 rebounds per contest, and scoring the decisive points in each of the Spartans' last two victories.

Entering Wednesday night's Elite Eight quarter-final against Northwest Missouri State, he has averaged 20.4 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game, earning his second straight East Coast Conference Player of the Year while leading his squad to its second consecutive league championship. He has been even more dominant in the post-season, averaging over 24 points and 12 caroms per contest in his Spartans' perfect 5-0 run.

St. Thomas Aquinas (28-5) takes the #7 seed into Wednesday's showdown with #2 Northwest Missouri State (32-1), with tip set for 7:00 pm Eastern. The winner advances to Thursday night's Final Four, meeting either #3 Lincoln Memorial or #6 Chico State, with the National Championship to be decided on Saturday, March 25, at 3:00 pm Eastern.

Quarter-final action will be available via stream at NCAA.com, Thursday's semis will be on the CBS Sports Network, and Saturday's final will be broadcast live on CBS.
