Justin Reyes Selected As Met Basketball Writers D2 Player of the Week

Justin Reyes was selected as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, after the 6-4, guard/forward from Haverhill, MA became the East Coast Conference's new career leader in field goals made and recorded his 2000th point as a member of the Spartans. Reyes shot 58.3 percent (14-for-24) from the field and 92.5 percent (25-for-27) from the free throw line in games against Queens College and Molloy College last week.

Justin, who is currently the East Coast Conference scoring leader (23.2 points per game), and also leads the conference in rebounding (10.0) and field goal percentage (58.5%), has led St. Thomas Aquinas to a 18-4 overall record through twenty two games. In addition, Reyes now stands just four points shy of becoming the all-time leading scorer in East Coast Conference history.

The Spartans will play their next three straight at Aquinas Hall, part of a string of seven of their last nine regular-season games at home. Queens College visits Tuesday for the second meeting between the squads in six days, with Daemen College visiting Friday, both set for 7:30 pm tips. Roberts Wesleyan closes out the busy week on Sunday, paying a call for a 3:00 pm start.
