Spartans' Reyes Selected As Met Basketball Writers D2 Player of the Week

St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Basketball player Justin Reyes was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans 2-0 week.

Reyes averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Spartans' wins over New York Institute of Technology and LIU Post last week. Justin had 19 points to go along with 9 rebounds versus NYIT on Wednesday. The senior guard/forward from Haverhill, MA then recorded his sixteenth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds at LIU Post on Saturday. On the week, Reyes shot 70 percent (14-for-20) from the field and 72.7 percent (8-for-11) from the free throw line.

The 23-6 Spartans are off until Saturday, February 24, when they close out the regular-season by hosting the University of the District of Columbia at Aquinas Hall. Senior Day festivities will be held before the approximately 3:00 pm tip, after the conclusion of the women's contest at 1:00. #3 regionally ranked St. Thomas Aquinas has clinched a berth in the ECC Tournament and will either host a first ground game on Wednesday, February 28 at Aquinas Hall, or earn a bye to the semi-finals at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, March 2. Opponents and times are to be determined.
