Tobin Anderson Named HoopDirt.com Division II Coach of the Week

On Monday, St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball Head Coach Tobin Anderson was named the HoopDirt.com Coach of the Week for Division II.

Coach Anderson’s St. Thomas Aquinas squad was up to the challenge against two previously unbeaten opponents this week, coming away with a pair of big wins and remaining undefeated themselves, now at 6-0. On Wednesday, the 20th ranked Spartans handed Adelphi their first loss of the season – a 93-78 triumph that saw STAC out-rebound their competition 35-18. Next up for St. Thomas Aquinas was a top-25 road match-up against No. 23 Jefferson (4-0 at the time). The Spartans withstood a late, overtime-forcing Jefferson run and held on in the extra period for a big 81-78 win.

Coaches selected for this weekly honor are now eligible to receive the HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by Just Play Solutions, which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2019-20 college basketball season. This is the fifth year that HoopDirt.com has run the Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year Programs.

The Spartans are right back in the heat of tough regional play on Monday night, hosting undefeated Dominican College for a 7:00 pm start at Aquinas Hall. After a road game at the College of Staten Island on Saturday, November 30, East Coast Conference action starts at Mercy on Thursday, December 5 before a return to Aquinas Hall to take on Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen on December 11 and 13 respectively.
