St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball player Sekou Cisse was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans' 2-0 week on the hardwood.
Cisse averaged 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in two games (Nov. 20 vs. Adelphi: W, 93-78 and Nov. 23 at Jefferson: W/OT, 81-78) last week. The senior guard/forward from Harlem, NY shot 79.2 percent (19-for-24) from the field, 100.0 percent (3-for-3) from three and 66.6 percent (6-for-9) from the foul line. Sekou also picked up 3 assists and 2 steals for the Spartans.
#20 ranked St. Thomas Aquinas (6-0) are right back in the heat of tough regional play on Monday night, hosting undefeated Dominican College for a 7:00 pm start at Aquinas Hall. After a road game at the College of Staten Island on Saturday, November 30, East Coast Conference action starts at Mercy on Thursday, December 5 before a return to Aquinas Hall to take on Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen on December 11 and 13 respectively.
