Spartans Rise Three Spots to #14 in Latest NABC Coaches Poll

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has been ranked #14 overall in all of Division II Men's Basketball according to the latest poll released on Tuesday afternoon by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Last weekend's home victory over Mercy College (95-80) has STAC sitting with an 18-3 overall record, and an 8-1 ECC mark. The Spartans are currently being led by Osbel Caraballo (Sophomore/Forward/Bolivar, Venezuela) - averaging 16.2 points per game & 7.5 rebounds per game, Demetre Roberts (Sophomore/Guard/Mount Vernon, NY) - averaging 15.9 points per game & 3.1 assists per game and Sekou Cisse (Senior/Guard & Forward/Harlem, NY) - averaging 14.6 points per game & 8.4 rebounds per game.

The team's offense currently averages 81.2 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of only 71.7 points per game.

The Spartans will play their next four games on the road before returning to Aquinas Hall, starting at Molloy College on Wednesday, February 5. They then embark on their Upstate New York weekend, facing Daemen (February 14) and Roberts Wesleyan (February 16), before wrapping up at Queens on February 19. They return to Aquinas Hall to square off with NYIT on Saturday, February 22.
