Spartans Ranked #11 in Latest NABC Coaches Poll

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has been ranked #11 overall in all of Division II according to the latest poll released on Tuesday afternoon by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Last weekend's 2-game sweep of ECC Tournament contests against Daemen College (91-78) and the University of Bridgeport (74-67) gave St. Thomas Aquinas their fourth ECC title in the last five seasons, and have them sitting with a 25-5 overall record heading into the NCAA Division II East Regional.

The Spartans are currently being led by Osbel Caraballo (Sophomore/Forward/Bolivar, Venezuela) - averaging 17.5 points per game & 7.3 rebounds per game, Demetre Roberts (Sophomore/Guard/Mount Vernon, NY) - averaging 15.0 points per game & 3.8 assists per game, Sekou Cisse (Senior/Guard & Forward/Harlem, NY) - averaging 14.3 points per game & 8.1 rebounds per game and Grant Singleton (Sophomore/Guard, Sumter, SC) - averaging 10.9 points per game & 2.8 assists per game.

The team's offense currently averages 81.4 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of only 72.4 points per game.

St. Thomas Aquinas College will be the #2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament and will take on local rival and #7 seed Dominican College on Saturday, March 14th at host site, the University of Bridgeport. Tip-off is set for 2:30pm.
