NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament Canceled Due to Coronavirus

The NCAA announced today that National Basketball Tournaments in all three divisions have been canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. STAC's men's basketball team, entering as the #2 seed, was slated to play in the East Regional this Saturday, March 14 at the University of Bridgeport against #7 seeded Dominican College. The tournament will not be rescheduled.

STACs season officially closes with a 25-5 record after having captured the program's fourth East Coast Conference Tournament title in five years, while the team qualified for its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans were led by First Team All-ECC selections Osbel Caraballo and Demetre Roberts, and Third Team honoree Sekou Cisse, who is the only graduating senior on this year's squad.

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Department of Athletics wishes to thank the entire Spartan Army for its support throughout the season and encourages all to follow public health guidelines for the health and wellbeing of the entire community. We look forward to seeing you next season.
