James Patterson Scores Fourth Straight ECC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball player James Patterson was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week for a fourth consecutive week and ninth time this season on Monday, following the Spartans sweep of matchups against both the University of Bridgeport (90-81) and Roberts Wesleyan University (101-84) last week.

The sophomore guard/forward tallied 27 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out two assists, and forced a steal in 30 minutes against the Purple Knights before recording 30 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 34 minutes versus the Redhawks. Patterson also shot 44.4 percent (20-of-45) from the field and 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the foul line in a 2-0 week for the Spartans, who sit atop the conference standings with a 10-1 ECC record. The now nine-time ECC Player of the Week leads the entire NCAA East Region and ranks third nationally in scoring with 24.3 points per game.

St. Thomas Aquinas hosts crosstown rivals Dominican University on Wednesday, February 14 in the 2024 Doc Schelin Classic at Aquinas Hall Gymnasium. The Spartans and Chargers will tip-off at 7:00 p.m., with ceremonies in honor and memory of Dr. Robert Schelin, former STAC Dean of Student Affairs and Professor of History and Political Science, taking place prior to the non-conference clash.
