James Patterson and Sarah Ericson Earn Met Basketball Writers Association Division II/III Player of the Week Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Basketball players James Patterson and Sarah Ericson were named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II/III Players of Week on Tuesday, following a four-game sweep of contests by both the men's and women's squads against Daemen University and D'Youville University last weekend.

Patterson (Richmond, Va.) averaged 25.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game over two contests last week for STAC. The sophomore guard/forward dropped 27 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and forced four steals in 33 minutes versus the Wildcats before recording 23 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals in 26 minutes against the Saints. Patterson also shot 37.1 percent (13-35) from the field and 91.3 percent (21-23) from the foul line in a 2-0 week. 

Ericson (Norwich, Conn.) averaged 27.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 2.5 blocks per game over two games last week for the Spartans. The junior guard dropped 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out six assists, and forced six steals in 37 minutes against Daemen, before recording 24 points, nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and five blocks in 36 minutes versus D'Youville. Sarah also shot 54.0 percent (20-of-37) from the field, 40.0 percent (6-of-15) from three and 88.8 percent (8-of-9) from the foul line in a 2-0 week.
