
Buffalo, N.Y. - Troy'reon Ramos' 29-point effort helped lead the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team to a decisive 96-83 victory over D'Youville University on Sunday afternoon at the Saints Center in Western New York.
STAC improves to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in ECC play, while D'Youville drops to 2-8 and 0-4.
The aforementioned Troy'reon Ramos posted a game-high 29 points for the maroon and gold, while teammates Luis Risquez (17 points), Derrick James (14 points) and Hartnel Haye (12 points) also factored in the Spartans' totals, with each scoring in double figures. Meanwhile, Elisha Warren led the host Saints in scoring, tallying 21 points.
STAC shot 51.3 percent from the field (39-76), while D'Youville shot 40.6 percent (26-64) from the floor.
STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Nine Spartans logged double-digit minutes in the ECC tilt.
- Derrick James led the maroon and gold with five assists on the day.
- Ramos hit 11 of his 16 field goal attempts, with 5-of-9 shots dropping in from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Luis Risquez went 8-of-12 from the floor.
- STAC out-rebounded D'Youville by a 41-36 margin, with Shaun Arnold grabbing a team-high 10 boards for the Spartans.
- St. Thomas Aquinas picked up nine steals, with the Saints turning the ball over on 18 separate occasions.
- The Spartans earned advantages in three team statistical categories over D'Youville: Points off Turnovers (31-11), Second Chance Points (22-15) and Points in the Paint (56-32).

- STAC's largest lead of the game came with just over two and a half minutes to play in the contest, when Spartans led by 27 points, 94-67, on a John Kallon dunk.

- Luis Risquez led all scorers with 10 first half points for the Spartans, while shooting 56.0 percent (5-of-9) from the floor.
- STAC best shooting half came in the second stanza, with the maroon and gold hitting 20 of its 39 total shots for a 51.3 field goal percentage and 6 of its 11 three-point attempts for a 54.5 percent clip.
D'YOUVILLE NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:
