STAC Men's Basketball Drops Fifth Straight, 81-67 at Bentley

Waltham, Mass. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team closed out 2025 with an 81-67 road setback to Bentley University on Wednesday afternoon at the Dana Center.

STAC drops its fifth straight contest and falls to 6-8 on the year, while Bentley improves to 8-3 with their fourth straight win.

William Landram II posted a team-high 15 points for the Spartans, while Anthony Daley (11 points) and Derrick James (10 points) also scored in double figures. For the host Falcons, Cash McClure led all scorers with 19 points.

St. Thomas Aquinas shot 36.6 percent (26-71) from the field, while Bentley shot 48.3 percent (28-58) from the floor.

STAC NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Nine Spartans logged double-digit minutes in the contest.
  • Michael Parrotta led the maroon and gold with three assists on the afternoon.
  • William Landram II hit 5 of his 6 field goal attempts, with three buckets sailing through the nets from beyond the arc, along with 2-of-3 free throws. Anthony Daley went 4-for-8 from the floor and 3-of-7 from long range.
  • Bentley out-rebounded STAC by a 46-36 margin, with Jordan Green grabbing a team-high nine boards for the Spartans.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas swiped seven steals, with the Falcons turning the ball over on 13 separate occasions.
  • The Spartans earned advantages in two key team statistical categories over Bentley: Points off Turnovers (20-6) and Bench Points (24-20).
  • The game featured no ties and no lead changes.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas trailed Bentley 46-25 at the half and shot just 32.3 percent (10-31) from the field.
  • Derrick James and Anthony Daley led all Spartans' scorers with six first half points apiece.

BENTLEY NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Eight Falcons logged double-digit minutes in the contest. 
  • Cash McClure led Bentley with 19 points, while teammates Ivan Misic (14 points), Cooper Farrall (14 points) and Mantas Zilys (14 points) also scored in double figures.
  • McClure also led Bentley with seven assists apiece on the day.
  • McClure went 5-for-12 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Misic connected on 4-of-5 field goal attempts, with two going in from long distance. He also sank all four of his free throws.
  • Cooper Farrall also grabbed a game-high 10 boards for the Falcons.
  • Bentley picked up three steals, with the Spartans turning the ball over on six separate occasions.
  • The Falcons earned advantages in three key team statistical categories over St. Thomas Aquinas: Second Chance Points (13-11), Points in the Paint (34-30) and Fastbreak Points (17-16).
  • Bentley had its largest lead of the game (25 points) with just under 19 and a half minutes to play in the contest, 50-25, on a pair of Ivan Misic free throws.
  • Mantas Zilys led all scorers at the half with 14 points for the Falcons, with Zilys shooting 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the field and 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from beyond the arc.
  • Bentley's best shooting half came in the opening stanza, with the Falcons shooting 52.9 percent (18-34) from the field and 56.3 percent (9-16) from distance.
