Spartan Ice Hockey Captures DVCHC East Coast Showdown Tournament Crown with 10-2 Win over Shippensburg

Stephen Finkel picked up his second hat trick in three days for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans in a 10-2 rout of the Shippensburg University Raiders in final game of the Deleware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference East Coast Showdown Tournament at Ice Works in Aston, PA on Sunday morning.
 
In addition, by virtue of a point system that rewards teams with 2 points for a regulation win, 1 point for a tie, 1 point for winning an individual period and 1 point for posting a shutout, the Spartans took the honor of being recognized as the 3-day tournament champions. STAC garnered a total of 15.5 points in three games (Game 1: 4.5, Game 2: 6, Game 3: 5).
 
Douglas Harrison and Giancarlo DiLorenzo netted two goals each, while James Ryan, Zachary Teats and Shaun Benson had a goal apiece, and Peter Gianatiempo picked up his second win of the tournament (W, 3-0), making 9 saves for the Spartans.
