In the latest ACHA poll, released on Friday afternoon, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team was ranked 9th in the Atlantic Region. This follows the Spartans 2-0 week, with victories over U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (3-2/SO) on November 15th and SUNY Maritime College (4-2) on November 16th.
The team is led by freshman Drew Lorenz with 9 goals and 12 assists (21 points), junior Patrick Burns with 9 goals and 11 assists (20 points) and junior Shaun Benson with 8 goals and 11 assists (19 points). Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the puck, goaltender Carl Lorenz has an 8-3 record with a 3.96 goals against average and a .918 save percentage, appearing in all eleven regular season contests played to date.
St. Thomas Aquinas College (8-3) continues their end of semester road trip when the Spartans head to Aston, PA for the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference East Coast Showdown Tournament on November 22-24.
