Monsey, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team kept its MCHC playoff hopes alive, while also snapping a five-game winless skid, by beating the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point), 5-3 on Sunday evening at Sport-O-Rama Ice Rinks.

Jeremy Poggi, Sean Kunz, Nevin Grubic, Noah Barr and Carter Taylor led the Spartans offensive charge, scoring a goal apiece in the contest. Goalie Michael Pippo (5-4) got the start between the pipes and stopped 48 of 51 shots to pick up the victory.
