Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Facing off with a soon-to-be NCAA Division III program, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Ice Hockey team suffered a 10-0 loss to Misericordia University on Thursday evening at the Toyota SportsPlex.
STAC slips to 3-3 overall on the year.
Misericordia University is in the final stages of sport sponsorship approval at the NCAA Division III level and will start play as such in the Fall of 2025. The Cougars roster currently stands at 41 players for the 2024-25 campaign.
Michael Pippo (L, 1-2) got the start in goal for STAC and stopped 32 of 40 shots faced in 28 minutes of action, before Theo Morris came on in relief of Pippo for the final 32 minutes. Morris turned aside 26 of 28 shots.
