Strong 4th Quarter Propels Chargers Past Spartans, 9-5

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team lost to Dominican College on Saturday afternoon. Briele Caples and Tyler Senatore each scored two goals for the Spartans.

The Spartans were on the scoreboard first behind a goal from Thomas Hollway in the early minutes of the 1st quarter.  The Chargers scored the next three goals of the game before Caples scored his first goal off an assist from Senatore.  Dominican held a 3-2 advantage after the 1st quarter.  

The Chargers Marco Pierce scored the only goal of the 2nd quarter extending the home teams lead to 4-2 at the half.  STAC held a 20-17 advantage in shots after the first half.  

The Spartans rallied back outscoring Dominican 2-1 in the 3rd quarter; with a goal from Senatore and Caples.  Domincan used a strong 4th quarter to end the Spartans hopes of a come back, outscoring them 4-1.  The Chargers held a slight edge (17-16) in shots for the second half.  

Ryan Guild had 13 saves for the Spartans.  STAC will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to NYIT for a 4:00 p.m. game.
