
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team fell to Molloy College on Saturday, 8-5. Briele Caples scored 2 goals and added an assist or the Spartans. Ryan Mello had 19 saves in the loss.
Molloy controlled the opening quarter outscoring the Spartans 3-1 with Caples scoring the Spartans only goal. Caples added a goal in the second quarter and assisted on one from Thomas Hollway to bring the Spartans within one, 4-3 at the half.
The Spartans were outmatched 2-1 in both the 3rd and 4th quarters scoring the final goal in each. Tyler Senatore added a 3rd quarter goal and Paul Rhodes added a goal off an assist from Luke Madry.
The Lions dominated the Spartans with 54 shots to the Spartans 16. Ryan Mello put forth a solid effort to keep the Spartans in the game.
The Spartans will travel to Georgian Court on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. game.
