Spartans Earn 10-8 Win on Senior Day

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team beat Notre Dame de Namur, 10-8 on Sunday afternoon.  Briele Caples scored 5 goals and had 1 assist while Tyler Senatore added 3 goals.  

The Spartans got off to a strong start scoring three goals in the 1st quarter.  Joseph Nyemchek put the Spartans on the scoreboard just seconds into the game.  Luke Madry added the second goal and followed that with an assit to Senatore to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead.  

Notre Dame de Namur had a strong 2nd quarter outscoring the Spartans 5-4.  Caples had three of the Spartans goals and Senatore added his second goal.  

STAC extended their 7-5 lead to 9-5 behind Caples two goals in the 3rd quarter.  Mark Paul added an assist.  The visitors rallied with the first three goals of the 4th quarter to bring them within one, 9-8.  Senatore scored his final goal of the game with :34 seconds left to secure the win for the Spartans.  

Ryan Guild had 8 saves in the game and Ryan Mello added 10 saves picking up the win.  The Spartans will host LIU Post on Wednesday at 3:30 for the final home game of the season.  Todays game was the senior day game for the Spartans two seniors; Michael McNally and Mark Paul.
