St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse goalkeeper Ryan Mello was named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 2-0 week, which included wins over Felician University and the University of the District of Columbia.
Mello led the Spartans to a pair of wins last week with an outstanding effort in the cage. He made 28 total saves on the week to finish with a 70.0 save percentage and a 6.38 goals against average. Ryan made eight saves, including his 500th career stop in a 15-3 win over Felician. Mello then followed it up with a 20 save performance to lift STAC to an 11-9 win over ECC rival, UDC.
STAC (3-2) next hosts Post University (CT) in a 4pm match-up at Spartan Field on Wednesday, March 27.
