Late Attack Not Strong Enough As Spartans  Fall, 12-8 to Saint Rose

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team fell to Saint Rose, 12-8 on Wednesday afternoon. Tyler Senatore scored four goals for the Spartans. Ryan Mello made 18 saves in the loss.

Saint Rose opened a 5-2 lead in the first quarter recieving two goals from Jordyn Marchiano.  Senatore scored both goals for the Spartans, one assisted by Anthony Irizarry.  Irizarry recorded two goals to go along with an assist for the Spartans.  

Both teams scored two goals apiece in the second quarter as the home team trailed, 7-4 at the break.  Luke Broderick scored off an assist from Tom Solimando.  

The Golden Knights came out strong to start the third quarter scoring three straight goals and extending their lead, 10-4.  The Spartans late run fell short as they scored four out of the last six goals for the game, including three straight goals in the fourth quarter.  Saint Rose held a 47-28 advantage in shots and won 20 out of 23 faceoffs.

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Molloy College for a noon game.
