Third Quarter Rally Pushes AIC Past STAC, 12-8

A third quarter rally by American International College was enough to push the visiting Yellow Jackets past St. Thomas Aquinas College, 12-8 on Friday afternoon at Spartan Field.

On the day, Tyler Senatore, Luke Broderick and Timothy Zimnoch each netted a pair of goals for STAC, while Tom Solimando and Anthony Irizarry picked up a goal apiece. Spartan goalie Ryan Guild (L, 0-2) stopped 15 of 27 shots faced.

Meanwhile, AIC saw three goal perforamces from Dylan Heald and Matt Quinlan, while Sal Amaral and Rusty Stone tallied two goals each. Avery Foye and Jason Vickery also scored a goal each, while goaltender Vincent Orlandi picked up his first win of the season, making 20 saves.

Shots for the game were 49 (27 on goal) for visiting AIC and 30 (20 on goal) for St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Spartans (0-2) visit Felician University on Tuesday, February 25th. The contest will be played at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex in Lyndhurst, NJ, with the opening draw set for 5:30pm.
