Craig Peavy has been named the ECC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, while Joseph Casarella scores Rookie of the Week honors on Monday, following the Spartans 2-0 week on the field, with victories over Felician University (8-7) and D'Youville University (9-2).
Peavy (Uniondale, N.Y.) led the Spartans to a 2-0 week in goal, allowing only nine total goals on 36 shots faced. The senior goalie posted a 4.50 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.
Casarella (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) tallied six goals and two assists over two games (also two wins) last week for STAC. The freshman attackman registered 24 total shots (11 on goal), scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
St. Thomas Aquinas (4-7, 1-1 ECC) takes its two-game win streak on the road, visiting Caldwell University on Wednesday, March 27. The Spartans and Cougars will square off at Essex Valley Field in West Caldwell, New Jersey beginning at 4:00 p.m.
