Jack Spallone Tabbed As New Men's Lacrosse Head Coach

Sparkill, N.Y. - After an extensive search, St. Thomas Aquinas College Director of Athletics Nicole Ryan recently announced that Jack Spallone will be the next head coach of the men's lacrosse program.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Spallone to the Spartan family", stated Ryan. "Jack’s vision and commitment to excellence both on and off the field aligns perfectly with our mission, making him a great fit to lead the team in the next chapter of STAC men’s lacrosse. His passion for the sport and the energy he exudes will help to catapult the growth of our program and to take us to new heights."

Jack is well respected within the lacrosse community, having coached many talented men's lacrosse athletes over the last 15 years on both the collegiate and high school levels.

Spallone comes in with a wealth of experience in collegiate lacrosse. Most recently, he served as the head coach at American International College (Springfield, Massachusetts) from 2022-2024, where he guided the Yellow Jackets to a new single-season wins mark in 2024 and his players set new program records in goals, assists, points, goals per game, goals against per game, caused turnovers, man down goals and goals in a game during that span. He also recruited the largest, most diverse roster in program history, bringing in student-athletes from 10 different states and four different Canadian provinces.

Prior to his time in Springfield, Spallone served as the offensive coordinator at Lewis University from 2019-22, where he helped lead the Flyers to a Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinal appearance this season. Three players notched 40 or more points as the team scored over 11.5 goals per game in 2022, and the man-up unit converted 33.3 percent of its chances. In his four years at Lewis, he helped build the recruiting network for the Flyers as well, drawing student-athletes from Illinois, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, and Canada.

Before Lewis, Spallone was the offensive coordinator at Lycoming College from 2015-19; the coaching staff earned Middle Atlantic Conference-Commonwealth Coach of the Year honors while Spallone was on the staff. Among the student-athletes he coached were the 2019 MAC-Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year, the 2017 MAC-Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, an IMLCA All-Region Selection, and eight MAC-Commonwealth All-Conference honorees including three First-Team selections. Among his most notable mentees was Michael Tenant, who set Lycoming records for saves and earned conference Defensive Player of the Year accolades.

As a student-athlete, Spallone played at Saint Joseph’s University as an attackman from 2009-11. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s in 2012, and then graduated from Southern New Hampshire University’s Master’s of Sports Management program with a certificate in Athletic Administration, earning a 4.0 GPA.

"I would like to begin by thanking Athletic Director Nicole Ryan and Associate Athletic Director Margaret Alaimo for entrusting me to lead the Men’s Lacrosse Program", said Spallone. "I am thrilled to be a part of the Spartan family that has been so outwardly welcoming to my family and I. I look forward to building this program in the ECC against great competition and putting a stamp on our new brand of Spartans Lacrosse for years to come."
