John Pena has been named the ECC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Joseph Casarella scores Rookie of the Week honors on Monday, following the Spartans 1-1 week on the field, including a 15-5 victory at Holy Family University on Sunday.
Pena (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied 11 points with seven goals and four assists for the maroon and gold, including three goals and three assists to go with five ground balls in a win over the Tigers.
Casarella (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) recorded seven points on four goals and three assists alongside four ground balls and five caused turnovers for the Spartans. In the road triumph over Holy Family, the STAC rookie did a little bit of everything with a hat trick, two assists, two ground balls, and five caused turnovers.
St. Thomas Aquinas (2-4) visits Post University on Saturday, March 9, with the opening faceoff set for 2:00 p.m. at LaMoy Field in Waterbury, Connecticut.
