Men's Lacrosse Wraps 2024 Season With 20-5 Loss At Roberts Wesleyan

Rochester, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse team closed out its 2024 campaign on Saturday afternoon, falling to Roberts Wesleyan University, 20-5 at Redhawks Field in Western New York.

STAC wraps up its season with a 5-11 overall record and a 2-4 mark in ECC play, while Roberts Wesleyan improves to 10-5 and 4-2.

Jeremy Poggi led the Spartans' offense with two goals in the match, while teammates, Ryan Christensen (1 goal, 3 assists), Austin Palen (1 goal) and Jeremy Schucker (1 goal) contributed to the cause, with each tallying a goal for the maroon and gold. Goalie Craig Peavy (L, 5-11) got the start in net for the visitors from Sparkill and stopped 18 of 38 shots faced to close out his year.

Meanwhile, Roberts Wesleyan was led by Gunner MacMillan, who put up seven goals and two assists. Dan Doviak tallied a double hat-trick and added two helpers, while Jordon Deats scored twice and added five assists and Tyler Clark netted a pair of goals for the Redhawks. Additionally, Justin Skelly (1 goal, 1 assist), Colton Ugine (1 goal) and Matt Walsh (1 goal) added to the totals on the scoreboard for the hosts. Garrett Kayser (W, 10-5) stopped five-of-ten shots in a little over 51 minutes of action, before Matt Beachel took over in the cage for the final eight and a half plus minutes, and turned away the only shot he faced to close out the conference matchup.
