St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse players Hayden Gaudette and Vinny Rosario were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans 1-1 week on the field against Georgian Court University (L, 17-10) and Southern New Hampshire University (W, 11-9).
Gaudette was tabbed as the ECC Defensive Player of the Week, while Rosario scored ECC Rookie of the Week kudos.
Gaudette (Bennington, Vt.) made 37 stops on 63 total shots in STAC's 1-1 week against Georgian Court and Southern New Hampshire. The junior goalkeeper recorded 17 saves against the Lions in a 17-10 loss and another 20 stops vs. the Penmen in an 11-9 victory.
Rosario (Ridge, N.Y.) racked up 20 ground balls and won 32-of-46 face-off attempts (69.5 percent) for the Spartans in a 1-1 week against Georgian Court (20-for-28, 12 ground balls) and Southern New Hampshire (12-for-18, eight ground balls).
STAC (1-2) closes out its season-long four-game road trip, visiting Felician University on Wednesday, March 5 with the opening faceoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Tryon Field in Rutherford, New Jersey.
