
Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 15-4 decision to No. 17 USILA-ranked Molloy University on Wednesday evening at the RVC Sports Complex on Long Island.
STAC falls to 3-8 overall and 0-4 in ECC play, while Molloy improves to 12-3 and 4-0.
Austin Maybee led the Spartans' offense with a pair of goals and an assist on the night, while Lucas Mullen talled a goal and added a helper and Austin Palen added a goal. Goalie Hayden Gaudette (L, 3-7) got the start between the pipes for the maroon and gold and stopped 23 of 36 shots faced, before being replaced by teammate Craig Peavy late in the fourth quarter. Peavy turned aside 1 of 3 shots fired his way.
Meanwhile, Molloy was led by Luke Hickam, who tallied four goals and two assists, while Noah Tayor and Bryan Diliberto each added three goals and an assist. Brian Green (2 goals, 3 assists), Justin Palulis (1 goal), Mike D'Amato (1 goal), and Tommy Corcoron (1 goal) added to the total on the scoreboard for the host Lions. Goalie Christian Michaels (W, 12-3) was 6 for 10 in save opportunities, before being spelled by John Basile for the final eight plus minutes of the match. Jones stopped both of the shots sent his way.
