Larry Ayers became the third head coach of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans Men's Lacrosse program in 2020, after coaching for four years at both Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey and Pearl River High School in Rockland County, New York.

Coach Ayers grew up on Long Island where he attended St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, New York and was a three-sport athlete (Golf, Ice Hockey and Lacrosse). After high school, Ayers went on to play both Golf and Lacrosse at Manhattan College, where he was also the team captain for both sports. Larry finished in the top ten of the 1998 MAAC Men's Golf Championships and was named the MAAC Conference's Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week on two occasions in 1996. Ayers finished his collegiate lacrosse career scoring over 100 points in three seasons.

Ayers resides in Pearl River, New York, where he is an active law enforcement officer and is the President of the Rockland County Police Benevolent Association. Larry is married to his wife of 20 years, Alece Corcoran and has four children; three boys and a girl: ages 12, 13, 15 and 17.
