STAC Men's Soccer selected 9th in Preseason Poll

The East Coast Conference announced the Men's Soocer Preseason Poll.  The Spartans were selected to finish 9th coming off a 2-7 conference record last season.  STAC finished with an overall record of 6-12 and is returning four of their top five scorers from last year's squad.  The Spartans are led by Senior Gerald Jones out of Monroe, NY.  The 6'1" Forward led the team with four goals and one assist, combining for a team high nine points.

 

The Dowling College Golden Lions have been selected to reclaim the East Coast Conference title in the 2008 season as voted on by the league's coaches.  Dowling finished the 2007 season in first place with a conference record of 6-0-3 and an overall record of 17-3-3.  The Spartans will take on the defending champs on October 15th on the road.

 

STAC will look to kick off the 2008 campaign on the road against Bloomsburg University on September 3rd.  They will follow that up with a long road trip to Southern New Hampshire State University on September 6th.   

 

The Spartans will be back in action for their home opener against Felician College on September 10th at the North Rockland Soccer Association Sports Complex.  Game time is slated for 3:30pm.
