Trajkovski Scores in OT to Lift Spartans Past Chestnut Hill

Trajkovski Heads in His First Goal of the Season

The STAC men's soccer team keeps their winning streak alive with fifth consecutive win beating Chestnut Hill 1-0 in overtime on the road.  Junior Jesse Trajkovski headed in a goal off a corner kick from freshmen Remington Lee.  The Spartans recorded their third shut-out of the season and continue to win thanks to their solid defensive play.

STAC has held their opponents to two goals in their last five games.  The Spartans continue to get solid play in the backfield from Trajkovski, senior Steven Rozycki and freshmen Edgar Barrigan.  Rookie goalkeepers Andrew Tartara and Nicholas Corce are off to an outstanding start in net recording twenty three saves in the last three games.

The Spartans, who are led by senior striker Gerald Jones and senior captain Andres Gomez, are the beneficiaries of a smooth transition from high school to college by the five freshmen added to their starting lineup.  Both goalie Andrew Tartara and midfielder Remington Lee have received East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week awards.  Six different Spartans have contributed to the team's scoring this season.

STAC will return home this Wednesday to face Bloomfield College at North Rockland Sports Complex.  Gametime is slated for 4:00.
