Men's Soccer Wins Second in a Row

Spartans Win Second Straight; Pick up First Road Win

The STAC Men's Soccer team recorded their second win of the season this afternoon with a 3-0 victory at cross town rival Nyack College.  Freshmen goalie Andrew Tartara registered his first career shutout.  STAC senior Gerald Jones scored the first goal of the game while freshmen Remington Lee and James Earl added a goal apiece.

Jones, STAC's all time leader* in goals scored started right where he left off after scoring three goals Wednesday against Felician College.  Jones's goal came off a corner kick by senior captain Andres Gomez where he converted the goal into the right corner of the net.  Jones leads the Spartans with five goals on the season.

The Spartans held on to the 1-0 lead through most of the game as each team battled defensively.  A goal by Lee, his second of the season, at 78:08 provided a spark for STAC.  James Earl followed with his second career goal at 83:21 off a block from Nyack goalie Julien Curtis.

Tartara had a season high four saves in route to the shutout, bringing his total to fourteen in four appearances.  The Spartans, now 2-1-1, look to keep up their hot streak as they take on the Goldey Beacom Lightning on Wednesday at home.
