The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost their home opener to Bloomfield College, 2-0 this afternoon at the North Rockland Soccer Association.  The Spartans Nicholas Croce recorded eleven saves.  Senior Jesse Trajkovski had a solid performance on the defensive end of the field. 

The Spartans Peter O'Malley and Daniel Davren each had close scoring opportunities  but were unable to score on goal keeper Steven Alonso who recorded six saves. Bloomfield out shot STAC 18-10.  The Deacons Edwin Ventura took a tough shot on goal that forced Croce to make a diving save but Evan Tageo recovered the deflection and knocked the ball in at the 33:38 mark.  Jason Bryan scored the second goal for Bloomfield with less then two minutes remaining to seal the victory.

STAC will be back in action on September 24th as they travel to St. Rose College.  The Spartans who will play eight of their first ten games on the road will not play a home game again until October 6th.
