The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost their first game of the season to Northeast-10 opponent Assumption College. The Spartans gave up a goal in each half, surrendering 2-0 in a match that only had eight shot attempts (Assumption, 5/ STAC, 3). Sophomore goalie, Nicholas Croce recorded one save for the game.
Assumption midfielder Tom Carroll scored his first career goal on a 50-foot riser over the head of Croce at 31:59 of the first half. Freshman Dan Davis scored his first career goal at the 55:37 mark giving the Greyhounds a cushion and sealing the victory.
The Spartans will return to action on September 3rd as they travel to Southern New Hampshire for a 7 PM game.
