The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0 in this afternoon's contest.  STAC was led behind two first half goals from Jorge Mera.  Junior Renan Lopes added the third goal with two minutes remaining in the game off a direct kick.  Peter O'Malley and Daniel Davren assisted in Mera's first goal while Michael Lincoln notched his first assist on the second goal.  Goal keeper Nicholas Croce had three saves as he recorded his first shut out of the season. 

Mera leads the Spartans with four goals this season and STAC has won or tied each time Mera has scored.  Lopes has three goals for the season and four assists.  STAC received a strong defensive game from their backfield as they limited GBC shots on goal.

The Spartans move to 3-4-1 as they won back to back games for the first time this season.  STAC will look to build on this streak as they travel to Molloy College on Saturday for a 3:00 game.
