Spartans Set for ECC Playoffs

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team will be playing in the opening round of the ECC playoffs on Friday, November 5th at Bridgeport.  The Spartans are coming off their best regular season record, 12-4-1 and 4-3-0 in the ECC.  STAC is currently ranked 6th in the NCAA East Regional Ranking.

STAC is lead by sophomore forward Daniel Davren who has 9 goals and 7 assists for the season.  Remington Lee has guided the Spartan midfield with 6 goals and 4 assists so far this season.  Sean Reily and Brendan Flynn have each added 4 goals for the Spartan attack.  Freshman David Cowpar has been a steady presence on the defensive end while also providing some scoring with 3 goals this season.  The Spartan goal keeper, Andrew Tartara has recorded 73 saves on the year.  Four senior veterans; Conor Flynn, Chris Hernandez, Peter O'Malley and Renan Lopes who have provided great leadership for the Spartans will play in their first post season game.   

Friday's game is set for 2:00 p.m. and the winner will advance to the finals on Sunday.  The championship game will also be played at Bridgeport on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
