Sudden Death Goal, Knocks Spartans Out of ECC Playoffs

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to the University of Bridgeport, 3-2 in overtime.  Remington Lee and Brendan Flynn each scored for the Spartans.  Flynn along with Daniel Davren and Joseph Connolly each added assists.  Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for STAC.

The Spartans opened the game with Lee's goal at 6:45 off Davren's throw in.  Lee's goal was his 7th of the season and Davren's 8th assist of the year.  The Purple Knights added two goals later in the half to take a 2-1 lead at the break.  Flynn scored the game tying goal at the 77th minute off Connolloy's assist as players were scrambling to gain control of the ball. 

The Purple Knights Patric Brundin scored off a long blast to the top corner out of the reach of the Spartan keeper to end the game.  The Spartans are coming off their best regular season record at 12-4-1 and first post season game since the program moved to NCAA Division II.
