Spartans Top Mercy, 2-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Mercy, 2-0.  STAC received goals from Remington Lee and David Cowpar.  Daniel Davren assisted Lee's goal in the opening five minutes of play and Lee had the assist on Cowpar's second half goal.

Davren's throw-in assist was his fifth on the season as the sophomore leads STAC in points scored with nineteen.  Lee added his fifth goal and fourth assist of the season while Cowpar picked up his third goal of the year.  The Spartans dominated most of the game  controlling the pace of play.  The Spartan defense played outstanding keeping the Mavericks out of scoring position for the majority of the game.  William Miller, Connor Flynn and Peter O'Malley played strong defensive games helping Andrew Tartara recorded his third shutout of the season.

The Spartans will play at New Haven on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.  STAC is now 9-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the ECC.
