Molloy Tops Spartans, 1-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost to Molloy College, 1-0.  The Spartans played a hard fought game but could not rally a goal dropping their first game in three weeks.  This is also the first game of the season that the Spartans did not score a goal.

Renan Lopes missed a penatly kick late in the second half that would have tied the game.  Andrew Tartara had 3 saves for the Spartans.  STAC had 6 other shots on goal that were all saved by the Lions keeper, Michael Hunter.  Jeffrey Pattino scored Molloy's goal off an assist from Michael Adamcewitz. 

The Spartans will have a quick turn around before they travel to Philadelphia University on Monday for the next game.  STAC will finish they regular season with a road game at Bridgeport on Saturday.  The Spartans are now 12-2-1 and 5-2 in the ECC and have clinched a spot in the playoffs.

Today's game was senior day for STAC's four seniors; Conor Flynn, Chris Hernandez, Renana Lopers and Peter O'Malley.  The St. Thomas Aquinas athletic department thanks the four seniors for all of their hard work and dedication to the athletic program.
