The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Chestnut Hill College, 3-0. Sean Reily, Remington Lee and James Earl scored for the Spartans. Andrew Tartara had 6 saves for STAC. "The team played really well tonight," commented Head Coach Graham Brown.
The Spartans got off to a quick start scoring in the opening minute of action as Sean Reily netted a Daniel Davren throw in. Twenty minutes later Lee scored off an assist from Edgar Barrigan as STAC controlled a 2-0 lead at the break. The Spartans dominated for the majority of the game allowing only 6 shots on goal. Earl scored off a cross from Lee at the 68 minute mark to cushion the Spartan lead.
Tartara recorded his second shutout of the season. The Spartans who are regionally ranked 5th are now 8-0-1 and 2-0 in the ECC. Chestnut Hill, who is also ranked (9th) drops to 6-3-0. STAC will travel to Dowling College (Ranked 7th in East Region) on Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. game.
