The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team remained undefeated as they beat ECC opponent NYIT, 2-0. Freshman David Cowpar scored for STAC and senior Chris Hernandez knocked in a penalty kick to guide STAC to victory.
Both Spartan goals came in the second half as Cowpar headed in a Daniel Davren throw in to give STAC a 1-0 advantage. Two minutes later Hernandez scored to give the Spartans a cushion as they held on for the shutout. Keeper Andrew Tartara recorded 6 saves for STAC as the Spartans move to 6-0-0 and 1-0-0 in the ECC.
STAC will host Assumption College on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
