Spartans Overcome Purple Knights, 3-1

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat St. Michael's College, 3-1 in the opening game of the St. Michael's Doubletree Classic.  The Spartans received two goals from sophomore Brendan Flynn in the final 21 minutes of play to earn the victory.

The Purple Knights got on the board first off a goal by senior Blake Schill at the 22:00 minute mark.  Six minutes later Spartan sophomore Daniel Davren tied the game off an assists by Joseph Connolly.  Both teams battled it out until Flynn's goal at 20:14 off a pass from Kurt Schuler.  Flynn's second goal came off an assist from junior Remington Lee. 

Andrew Tartara had 5 saves in the win as the Spartans move to 4-0.  STAC will play St. Anselm on Sunday at 10:00 am.
