Spartans Move to #4 in East Region Ranking

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team moved one spot to #4 in the East Region after a 1-1 tie against previously ranked #4 Dowling College on Saturday.  The Spartans received a late goal from senior Edgar Barragan to even up the game.  STAC was 4-0-3 at the time of the regional voting by the NSCAA.

The Spartans are off to another strong start behind an experience group that finished the 2010 season at 12-5-1.  STAC is currently ranked 4th in the Nation in saves percentage (.933), behind the strong play of senior goal keeper, Andrew Tartara.  Daniel Davren is 6th in the country in total assists and 18th in total points as he leads the Spartan offense with 12 points.  Joseph Connolly, along with Davren, are ranked 32nd in the country each having scored 4 goals so far this season. 

STAC went on to beat Caldwell College later today to improve to 5-0-3.  Remington Lee scored 3 goals for the Spartans to bring his goal total up to 5 for the season.  STAC will return to conference action on Saturday when they travel to Mercy College for a 3:00 game.
