Spartan Soccer Team Ranked #17 in the Country

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team is ranked #17 in the country announced today by the NSCAA Coaches.  STAC was 6-0-3 at the time of the ranking and 1-0-1 in the ECC.  The Spartans are ranked #3 in the East Region. 

The Spartans are off to their best start in the schools history and under the helm of head coach Graham Brown.  This is the first ever national ranking for the soccer team which has been regionally ranked for the past four weeks. 

The Spartan offense is led by an experience group, with junior Daniel Davren who has 16 points off 5 goals and 6 assists.  Davren is ranked 16th in the country in assist and 27th in the country in assists per game at .57.  Senior Remington Lee has a team high 6 goals this season while junior Sean Reily has added 3 goals and 3 assists. 

STAC has a strong defensive core led by their senior and team captain Kurt Schuler, fellow senior Edgar Barragan and sophomore Robert Stevens.  Senior goal keeper Andrew Tartara has recorded 44 saves and is ranked 6th nationally in save percentage at .913.   

The Spartans tied Queens College 0-0 in double overtime in this evenings game, moving them to 6-0-4 and 1-0-2 in the ECC.  STAC will travel to #6 nationally ranked C.W. Post on Saturday for a 2:30 game.
