Spartans Shutout Hawks to Pick up First Win, 3-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat St. Anselm on Saturday, 3-0.  Daniel Davren scored two goals for the Spartans while Brendan Flynn added two assists.  Andrew Tartara recorded two saves in the win.

Davren's first goal came at the 32nd minute, off a cross from Flynn, and the Spartans controlled a 1-0 lead into the break.  The Spartan attack came out even stronger in the second half as Flynn assisted another goal, this time to senior Sean Reilly.  Davren scored again, from an assist by Sean Devito, to give the Spartans a 3-0 cushion. 

STAC is 1-0-1 and will play their third road game on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Assumption College for a 3:30 game.  The Spartans will play their first home game on Saturday against Lock Haven University at 2:30 p.m. at Eugene Levy field.
